For years, gifting an experience in Africa has meant one of two things: a generic voucher that could be spent on almost anything and therefore feels like it was chosen for almost no one, or a manual, back-and-forth arrangement — calling a restaurant yourself, handing someone cash and hoping they use it the way you intended. Neither is really a gift. RibbonsXP exists to close that gap.

Today, RibbonsXP is live across multiple African cities with two ways to give and book experiences: Experience Gift Cards, where you choose a category and price tier and we allocate a vetted partner, and named-venue credits — Spa Credits, Restaurant Credits and Hotel Credits — where you pick the exact place by name and the recipient books directly.

What's live right now

RibbonsXP already covers a growing list of African cities, with two products doing two different jobs:

RibbonsXP doesn't require a venue to sign a partnership agreement before it can be listed. A credit can be sold against a named restaurant or spa, and RibbonsXP handles outreach directly with that venue once a booking needs confirming — no POS integration, no upfront commitment.
